Westbound Traffic on I-84 Diverted Near Mountain Home Due To Traffic Accident

By Paul Johnson

Mountain Home, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Sheriff Deputies and Rescue workers from Elmore County are on the scene of a one vehicle rollover that happened about a mile from an earlier accident today. The accident near milepost 97 in the westbound lane of traffic happened just before 4pm. At this time, both westbound lanes are completely blocked and traffic is backing up. Motorists are urged to take an alternate route by exiting at mile post 99. The traffic is being diverted and many vehicles are now traveling through Mountain Home, causing traffic congestion for that community. Authorities are not sure when the freeway will be re-opened. Initial reports indicate that there were several people who were ejected from the vehicle. Injuries appear to be serious. Three Life Flight air ambulances have been called to the scene.
