Mountain Home, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Fire crews from Elmore County, the Bureau of Land Management and Mountain Home Air Force Base are all on the scene of a fire that started along the freeway. According to Elmore County Sheriff Dispatch, the fire was first reported about 1:45pm this afternoon. It’s burning brush and grass between along Interstate 84 between milepost 95 and 86 and Beaman road. Authorities are working to protect any personal property in the line of the fire. At this time, KMVT news does not have any reports of damage. Right now, the freeway is not closed, but police are directing traffic to move over to the left side of the road. It’s not known what started the fire. One theory was that it could have been a semi truck dragging an object causing sparks but officials say they can’t confirm that at this time.
