One Shot And Another Detained Following Twin Falls Shooting

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Eden Street between Third and Fourth Streets. The Twin Falls Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting shots fired in the area. When police arrived they found what appeared to be a male subject detaining a second male subject at gun point.

"Officers were able to detain both of those subjects. One male was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg and the second male was taken to the Police Department for questioning," said Sgt. John Wilson with the Twin Falls Police Department.

The Crime Scene unit was called to the scene and detectives spent the afternoon collecting bullets and other evidence. The Police Department tells us at least three shots were fired. They do not believe anyone else was involved.

Witnesses told us the neighborhood near the Salvation Army is normally pretty quiet and that the shooting was a surprise. "I really freaked out actually. I thought it was a pretty safe neighborhood and I guess now. I'll still live here but I'm definitely going to consider getting a security system," said Samantha Nelson.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
