Ketchum, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Ketchum Police say they are continuing to investigate exactly what happened Friday night that sent a 39 year old Ketchum Man to the hospital. Benjamin B. Charles is listed in stable condition at St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center. Police say the driver of a 2003 Toyota Tundra with California license plates was reportedly arguing with Charles. Police have identified the driver of the pickup as Peter Schernthanner, 43 of Oakland California. The incident was reported at Charles on 4th street. Charles was hanging on the door of the vehicle when Schernthanner drove away, Charles fell under the vehicle and his torso was run over by the back tire. Schernthanner told police he has never met Charles and that Charles was trying to break into his vehicle. Scherthanner was unaware he had ran over Charles. The victim had a blood alcohol content of .27, over three times the legal limit and may have been a factor in the incident. Charles told police he has no recollection of the incident. The incident was reported just after 11pm on Friday.
