UPDATED INFORMATION: Accident Blocks Westbound Traffic On State Highway 50 Near Kimberly’s Red Cap Corner
Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) An accident on State Highway 50 about a half a mile from “Red Cap Corner” briefly blocked traffic traveling west. Idaho State Police say the two vehicle injury accident at 7:30 am, happened when one vehicle rear ended another. Ivan Rivera-Lopez, age 23, of Hansen, was traveling west on State Highway 50 in a red Mercury Topaz. Jacob Ray, age 26, of Hansen, was traveling west on State Highway 50 in a blue Toyota Corolla. Rivera-Lopez had stopped to turn onto Heider Lane from State Highway 50. Ray did not yield, and struck Rivera-Lopez's vehicle from behind. Lopez-Rivera and a juvenile passenger were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls.
The westbound lanes of traffic of State Highway 50 were blocked for approximately 45 minutes.
