Twin Falls City Council Approves Request For Waste Treatment Upgrade

By Paul Johnson

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - After the strategic planning meeting the council got back to normal agenda items and approved one request that will eventually get the new Chobani plant running at full capacity.
The council approved a request to award the waste water treatment plant primary clarifier conversion project to Performance Systems Inc. of Fruitland Idaho in the amount of just over 1 million dollars.
The new clarifier will go to help increase the total number of gallons of waste water used by Chobani on a daily basis.
Without the new clarifier the plant would only be able to run at about 800 thousand gallons a day.
With the new system could push to well over a million gallons.
The project is scheduled to be completely finished by June of 2013.
