Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Fire destroyed a portion of a garage that was attached to a home at 3600 North and 2175 East in Twin Falls County. The Filer fire department responded with 3 trucks and 11 men at about 1:36 pm this afternoon. When the department arrived, they found a fire burning in the garage area. Filer Fire Chief Bud Compher said that the fire started on the outside of the double car garage but had burned into the structure that’s attached to a home. Chief Compher said “It could have been a lot worse.” They were able to contain the blaze and smoke to the garage area. Damage is estimated at $15,000 to $20,000. It wasn’t a suspicious fire but Chief Compher said the actual cause is still under investigation.
