Postage Stamps Increase a Cent

By Gina Jameson

It isn't just the cost of gas that's going up - so are your expenses for mailing a letter.

Monday the cost of a first-class stamp went up a penny to 42-cents, the latest in what are expected to be annual price adjustments by the US Postal Service.

A new law regulating the post office makes it easier to raise the cost of stamps - as long as the agency doesn't exceed the rate of inflation.
