Gas Prices Affecting Travel Plans

By Gina Jameson

Idaho AAA just released some new statistics stating that gas prices are affecting travel plans for Idahoans.

In just a year gas prices skyrocketed by sixty eight cents to $3.70 a gallon.

Now those planning to travel fifty miles or more on Memorial Day are thinking otherwise, as officials from Idaho AAA, estimate that eight thousand less Idahoans will make that trip this year.

Dave Carlson, Idaho AAA says, "We are going to see a one percent decrease we believe for the Memorial Day holiday. That speaks very strongly about people's mindsets and where their wallets are at this year."

Carlson says if the demand for gas increases over the weekend, we may see higher market prices.

If not, he predicts that gas may stabilize at $3.85 a gallon.
