$180,000 Worth Of Marijuana Found In Vehicle Near American Falls
American Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The Idaho state police say they arrested a 51 year old Gaston Oregon resident following a routine traffic stop at 8:55 am this morning. Authorities made the stop near milepost 38 on Interstate 86 in Power County. Antonio Alvarez-Contreras 51, was driving a silver 2002 Toyota Highlander when he was stopped for a traffic violation. Following the stop, authorities found 89.9 pounds of suspected marijuana which they seized. The vehicle was also seized. Alvarez-Contreras was taken to the power County Jail where he was charged with trafficking a controlled substance. That amount of marijuana has a street value of $180,000.00. Police are continuing their investigation.
