Jerome Food Pantry Keeping It Cold Thanks To Donation

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Thanks to a local donation, the Martha and Mary food pantry will be able to finalize the installation of their walk in’s. Local farmer Lisa Callen and America’s Farmers Grow Communities sponsored by the Monsanto Fund made the $2,500 donation. The fund provides farms in eligible counies the chance to win a $2,500 donation for a local nonprofit organization of their choice. In 2013, the food ministry served over 100 meals averaging 98 people per meal, distributed over 3000 food boxes, serving an average of over 1000 people per month. Callen said that “We belive in the work that the food ministry does.” “They do outstanding work.” This year, the Monsanto Fund will invest nearly $6 million in rural America through Grow Communities, which includes double donations for counties impacted by the historic drought.
In Idaho, $12,500 is being given across 5 counties.
