Paul, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Rescue personnel and Sheriff Deputies from Minidoka county are on the scene of an accident that has closed part of a road. Captain Dan Kindig with the Sheriff’s Office said that a 18-wheel Semi Truck hauling dirt went off the road at 600 West and 100 North near Paul. The accident happened about 9:40am this Thursday morning. The driver was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Authorities say the truck struck a power pole causing power lines to fall to the ground. They are not sure what caused the driver to leave the roadway. 600 West in Minidoka county near the accident is closed and traffic is being detoured to the 100 north or 200 north roads. Crews are working to repair the power line and to remove the truck. Captain Kindig said he expects the road to re-open by about noon today.
