Paul, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Around 400 Fire fighters from around the area made their way to Paul this weekend to take part in the 19th annual Southern Idaho Fire Academy.

This annual event is designed to show the Magic Valley and other agencies the high level of training our local Fire Departments and Quick Response Units are receiving.

The men and women who are taking part in the 3 day academy will spend their time going over tactical skills and brushing up on their fire fighting knowledge.

“Were doing training all the way from basic fire fighter skills to officer training. Just all of the different training aspects a fire fighter needs or EMS personnel will need to do their job for the public.”
Said Jerry Morton from the Southern Idaho Fire Academy.

Over the next two days the fire fighters and EMT’s will continue their training.

They will take part in classes and courses ranging from a 3-story fire prop house to vehicle extradition.
