Fire Damages Jerome Home

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Fire damaged a home in Jerome county early this morning. Joe Robbinette, the Jerome Rural Fire Chief said the fire at 190 North and 400 West was reported at 6:30 am. Creosote buildup in the wood stove chimney is to blame the Chief said. It burned a portion of the attic, one wall and the chimney. Chief Robinette said he estimates damage at about $5,000. It took fire crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire.
