Burley Signal Timing To Get Updates Starting Monday

By Paul Johnson

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) – Signal coordination and other signal timing adjustments will be made at seven closely spaced traffic signals in Burley beginning Monday April 1, to improve travel times on two of the most-traveled routes, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
Intersections on both Main Street (U.S. 30) and Overland Avenue (Idaho 27) will receive updates beginning Monday; the project will continue throughout the week. The following intersections will be affected: Overland and Main, Main and Oakley, Main and Albion, Main and Normal, Overland and 13th, Overland and 14th, and Overland and 16th.
Drivers are urged to use caution and obey all new traffic control signals. Minor increases to wait times at side streets are expected to ensure better traffic flow on the main routes. Travel times on the main routes will be compared against current signal timing to measure improvements and plan for future projects.
Later this year, count-down pedestrian displays and flashing yellow arrow left turn signals will be installed as part of the improvements.
