Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The 2012 good neighbor days is wrapping up in Kimberly.
The two day celebration had a variety of events and activities, including a first ever car show. Live music and laughter permeated the Kimberly City Park Saturday as hundreds came out for the 35th Annual Good Neighbor Days. The highlight of this year's event was the first ever Kimberly Cruise Car Show. "The Kimberly Cruise is mostly just a community event. Something to bring people out and just enjoy the neighbors and the community itself," said Jason Smith, KBOA. The Kimberly Business Owner's Association sponsored the car show and it featured hot rods, classics, motorcycles and other sweet rides. "There's trophies for different classes. We've got a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy. We have Best Paint, a Best Interior an All–Original. We have a Best Bike class for motorcycles. We have an under construction class and a participants," said Smith. Car collector, Loyal Cooper brought his nearly 100–year old ford. "I restored the car 37 years ago. It's a 1913 Model T Ford," said Loyal Cooper, car show participant. The car show was a big hit all around, especially for first time attendee David Taylor. "I'm a fan of old classic cars, especially fast cars," said David Taylor, attended event. It was a different mode of transportation that had his kids all smiles. "For the kids probably the train ride," said Taylor. For this new Kimberly resident the day was full of family fun. "I really enjoyed the family feel that you feel here. Parade, good parade. The kids got lots of candy, good food, good place to be," said Taylor. Comments ( |
