2012 Kimberly Good Neighbor Day Celebration
Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - The 2012 Kimberly Good Neighbor Days kicked off Friday afternoon in spite of all of the wind and rain.
This year marks year number 35 for this annual city–wide celebration.
And this Friday vendors and volunteers spent the evening setting up booths and getting Kimberly City Park ready for Saturdays all day celebration.
But it wasn't all prep work.
The celebration started up with the annual Horseshoe tournament that's hosted every year by the Kimberly Business Owners Association.
And then later in the evening, the annual Good Neighbor of the year was announced along with a large dinner celebration at the City Park.
Cecille Griffith from the Good Neighbors Days Committee Said…
“Each year theres nominated a good neighbor. And see how that goes is in 50 words or more they need to tell what these people have done. We do a juniors on too, because we just need to honor more people. It’s a good thing and it’s just wonderful and it grows every year.”
Saturday the party continues with a Parade that kicks off at 10:30 in the morning.
Following the parade, something new to this year's celebration will be a car show which will start up at the park after the parade.
Then for the rest of the day the park will play host to a weekend of vendors, music and fun for the whole family.
Then on Saturday evening, a dance will be held at First Federal and that starts at 6:30.
