2012 Pioneer Days Celebration Out In Oakley
Oakley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) All this week the small town of Oakley Idaho has been in full pioneer spirit in honor of this year's Pioneer Days Celebration.
With this year marking the 125th anniversary of the original Oakley Stake, this weekend's celebration is gearing up to be one of the best ones yet. Starting Friday a 3 – on – 3 basketball tournament, that starts at 8. Then a Dutch oven cook–off will start up at 10 in the morning, down at the city park. Then in the evening, starting at 8, annual Pioneer Days Rodeo will kick off over at the arena. Then on Saturday the fun will continue. The day will start off with the Goose Creek Run Off, which is a combination of 3 races including a 10k run a 4 mile walk and a 1 mile kid's race. Then the fun will continue all day Saturday with barbeques, parades and even a production of the Wizard of Oz at the historic Howells Opera house. The celebration will finally come to an end Saturday night with the final night of the annual Pioneer Days Rodeo. And again that starts at 8. Comments ( |
