2014 Magic Valley Airshow Holds Take Off Party
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) On Thursday the Magic Valley Regional Airport held a pre–Airshow Take Off Party.
The goal of the event was to kick off the 2014 Magic Valley Airshow and create an early buzz.
High flying tricks and fun events for the entire family... That's the goal for the 2014 Magic Valley Airshow.
Last year the Blue Angels were the main attraction.
But in being one of the world’s top airshow events, the Blue Angels weren't logistically able to come back this year.
But representatives with the show aren't worried about a lack of high flying entertainment.
"We still will have some of the top performers in the country really coming, were really fortunate. A couple of performers including Dan Buchanan, Dan does a hang glider act. Dan is very interesting because he's very inspirational because Dan is a paraplegic ... his motto is I fly because I can't walk. Kent Pietsch who is Mr. Jelly Belly he does some interesting performances including landing on the world's smallest airport... the back of a pick–up truck. And so it should be a lot of fun for the whole family. "
Said Jim O’Donnell Airshow Director
"Now with the Blue Angels not scheduled to appear in the 2014 Magic Valley Airshow... numbers are expected to be a little bit lower than in years past.
But area chamber members are excited about the economic impact the show will have. "
"The stores will tell you that people flock in because people had come to the airshow and were stopping on their way home. The mall way full, a lot of people come into town and have dinner and go to a movie, they make a whole day of it. So it really is important to all of our businesses."
Said Chamber Ambassador Midge Fisher.
With such a boost to the local economy, the airshow is still looking for local sponsors to get involved.
"Everybody can be a sponsor... individuals to corporations it takes them all to make it happen. Go to our website at MVAIRSHOW@YAHOO.COM and send us an email or they can contact eh airport office and we will get in contact with them."
A boost to the economy… and memories for a lifetime.
The 2014 Magic Valley Airshow gets underway June 20th through the 22nd.
Tickets for the show will go on sale a little bit before Christmas time.
