New Jersey ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The 2014 Special Olympic Games conclude Friday evening in New Jersey.
Team Idaho consists of 14 athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Events they are competing in include aquatics, bowling, golf, power lifting, and athletics.
Opening ceremonies kicked off on June 15th at the Prudential Center.
In total, there are 3500 athletes participating in 16 different sports.
Golf coach Kristi Kraft traveled to New Jersey with the athletes and explains the success of Team Idaho.
"Actually, we have several gold medals; our power lifter brought home a gold medal. Our golfer has gold. Aquatics had gold and we've had several others; we've had lots of other hardware," she says.
The Special Olympics athletes are returning to the Boise Airport at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday.
All fans are encouraged to meet them at the airport and help welcome them home.
