Cassia County, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - A Sunday afternoon boating accident has claimed the life of a 63 year old Paul resident. Cassia County Sheriff Jay Heward said that they responded to the boat docks at the Oakley Reservoir along Goose Creek at 1:48 pm Sunday afternoon. Larry Tominaga was in a fiberglass Hobie type boat when a heavy wind came up causing five-foot waves. The wind caused the boat to capsize. According to Sheriff Heward, the water was a cold 44 degrees at the time of the accident. The Coroner has not determined the exact cause of death but the sheriff said it will probably be hyperthermia or drowning or a combination of both. Tominaga was alone in the boat at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
