Carey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - 23 Carey Elementary students recently celebrated reading one-million words this past school year. Principal John Peck said the process was for the students to read a book and then take the Accelerated Reader test – oh yes and then pass it. Mrs. Carlson kept track and posted the scoreboard of the words on the wall to keep all eyes on the goal. The school goal was 80-million words.
The students in this club are Tate Squires, Isabel Mares, JR Pincock, Jesus Villanueva, Sawyer Mecham, Elizabeth Ruiz, Noelia Cruz Ruiz, Lindsey Morey, Bailey Morey, Athanasia Versis, Abigail Pincock, Breeze Verhees, Porter Mecham, Andrea Ruiz, Rita Garcia, Felicity Black, Ethan Hennefer, Payson Bennett, Jackson Pettit, Carl Andrews, Dani Aiken, Brigham Parke and Eli Cutler

In addition, Carey school had a Hawaii Party on June 6th to celebrate each child reaching their goal in completing their 7 Habits passport. The student lighthouse team planned the party and it was a great success.
