Fire Burning on BLM land in Southern Idaho Keeping Crews Busy

UPDATE: Crews with the Bureau of Land Management continue to work on a few fires today.

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Fires continue to burn on public land today keeping the Bureau of Land Management crews busy. On the Twin Falls district, the majority of these fires were caused by the large storm cell that traveled across Southern Idaho this week.
The North Laidlaw Butte fire 1 mile northeast of North Laidlaw Butte in the Craters of the Moon Wilderness was caused by lightning. At last check it was burning less than a acre in size.
The Emery Fire 13 miles south of Oakley has burned 600 acres. It was reported at 5:35 last night. Five engines are on scene. Containment expected tonight at 6. Lightning is what started that fire.
The Railroad fire 20 miles northeast of Paul burned only a 10th of an acre. The cause is human according to the BLM.
The Jim Brown fire started at 6:22 pm Monday. That fire is 6 miles southeast of Richfield and has burned 6500 acres. Containment is expected 6pm July 3. Cause for that fire was lightning.
The Point Fire 6 miles southwest of Rogerson continues to burn. The latest size according to the BLM, was 2500 acres. Three engines are on scene. The lightning caused fire started at 6:28 pm last night. Three engines are on scene and containment is expected tonight at 6pm. At one point the Pointe Ranch was in the path of the fire but according to the Bureau of Land Management, crews were able to divert the fire, protecting the private land.
The South Point fire 9 miles south of Roberson has burned 400 acres at last count. 3 engines and a dozer are on the scene. Containment of that fire expected tonight at 10pm.
The Highway 46 MM 103 fire was reported at 6:52pm 3 miles north of Wendell last night. At last count 2000 acres have burned. Containment expected for 6pm tonight.
The Silver Creek fire reported at 5:19 pm last night 9 miles south of Carey has burned less than 10 acres. It was contained last night at 11pm and control expected for 11 pm tonight.
The BLM is reporting that no structures were damaged as the result of any of the fires.
