Maintenance Paving Will Impact Traffic Next Week At Locations Throughout Twin Falls
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) – Drivers should prepare for lane restrictions and delays at several locations on Addison Avenue and Blue Lakes Boulevard for three days beginning Monday August 19 as crews replace rutted and cracking pavement, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews will remove approximately two inches of asphalt from the surface of the roadway and lay a mat of new asphalt. Work will take place at seven areas throughout Twin Falls.
Beginning Monday, work will begin on Addison Avenue at two locations – the eastbound lanes approaching Morrison Street's traffic signal and the westbound lanes from Second Avenue North through the Washington Street intersection.
On Tuesday, workers will move to Blue Lakes and replace asphalt at three areas, near Sixth Avenue, Eighth Avenue and between 10th and 11th Avenues. Crews also will work on Second Avenue East near Shoshone Street to replace areas of rutting.
On Wednesday, crews will replace rutted lanes on northbound Blue Lakes approaching Bridgeview Boulevard. The work will include milling and replacing the asphalt in the two through lanes.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each work zone with alternating lane closures. Work will begin at 6 a.m. and is expected to be concluded by 7 p.m. each day. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes where available.
