22nd Annual Zions Paint - A - Thon Comes To Gooding
Gooding, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Two homes in the Magic Valley got a brand new coat of paint this Monday, thanks to local employees from Zions Bank.
Over the past 22 years, Zions Bank has committed themselves to helping local senior citizens stay in their homes longer by returning those homes back to their original glory. In the two decades since this service project started, Zions has painted and fixed up nearly 837 homes throughout Idaho and even into Utah. As part of this year's "Paint–A–Thon" service project, two homes here in the Magic Valley made their hit list Over in Gooding, the home of 66 year old George Black received a new fresh coat of paint. Volunteers also spent some time working on Mr. Black's yard and also worked on a few other projects in and around the house. “You know… they’re really appreciative. I’ve never see one yet that wasn’t appreciative. We come in, they’re good to get along with and it brings a smile to their face. We just get the good feeling of helping somebody out. And that’s what we do.” Said Vern Eames from the Gooding branch of Zions Bank The other home Zions employees took on Monday was the home of 64 year old Sandy Pines out of Burley. Volunteers there also gave her home a new fresh coat of paint and helped to clean up the senior's yard. This week alone, more than 3,500 Zions employees will volunteer their time to clean, scrape and paint 50 homes throughout Idaho and Utah. Comments ( |
