Getting Closer To The Big Move

The Twin Falls County Commissioners and Saint Luke's Magic Valley are continuing to work through turning the Twin Falls Clinic and Hospital into county offices.

Twin Falls County Commissioner Terry Kramer said, "We have a real need for moving specialty courts out of our existing courthouse into a different location. And the opportunity has come for us to move to the top of the clinic building above the cafeteria."

Five years ago, the clinic took one of the elevators out of service when that second floor area was the Women’s Imaging Center for privacy reasons. That elevator is located in the cafeteria entry next to the back parking lot.

Kramer says that St. Luke’s has cleaned up the area above the cafeteria and it's ready to be moved into. He says he hopes the specialty courts will be up and running by this fall.

Kramer also says the elevator maintenance issue – including who will have to pay for it – still needs to be negotiated.

"This is all part of the overall program to bring that facility into compliance so we can utilize parts of the facility that are empty now. And so this is always a part of negotiation on all of this."
