Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Cassia County Sheriff Jay Heward said The Idaho Sheriffs’ Association will begin sending out letters for people to join the Association. The association is alerting people of the mailing saying that it is a legitimate campaign. The association said they do not use telephone solicitations. Thousands of mailings will go out over the course of the year to current and new members. Honorary Membership is $25, Business Membership is $40 and Medallion Membership is $75. Monies acquired through the campaign support sheriff's and detention officer training, victim notification, sex offender registration, annual jail inspections, and lobbying for laws that promote public safety.
