Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The Jerome City Council unanimously voted to accept the newest feature to the soon to be constructed skate park. The “Syringa Wireless Community Skate Park” is the name that was settled on. The council said that the Wireless company made a significant donation to the city to help expand and complete the skate park project. In a news release the city said Syringa is active in many of the communities that they serve and believe that the new skate park is good way to promote their business and to demonstrate their commitment to Jerome.

There will be a groundbreaking ceremony Monday at 3:30 in the North Park at 305 First Avenue.
Kathy Markus with the Jerome Skate Park Coalition said, “We are excited about the additional funding from Syringa Wireless. These funds have enabled us to expand the street skating portion of the park and add some wonderful skate features.”
The Jerome Skate Park Commission was formed in 2011 for the purpose of planning and raising money for the skate park. They are continuing their efforts to secure donations for additional space at the park. Individuals and businesses interested in making donations must donate by April 15th to be recognized on the park sign.
