The Twin Falls City Council held public meeting Monday night to discuss the rezoning of a plot of land near a developing intersection in the city.

Hawkins Company had asked the city to modify the Northbridge PUD for
a one-point-five acre lot at the Washington Street North - Pole Line Road intersection.

The land is currently zoned as residential, and could possibly be rezoned as commercial after tonight.

Back on May 28th, the city's planning and zoning board unanimously voted in recommendation of the rezoning.

The council decided to rezone the lot and use it for parking.

Also in discussion, considerations for estimates on next year's utilities project for Blue Lakes Boulevard.

The project, which is scheduled to begin next summer, would move overhead utilities under the sidewalks of the street from Falls Avenue to Pole Line Road.

The total cost of the project is estimated at just under $2.7 million.

The city's current budget does not include the cost of the project, but according to city financers, there is room for about $1.8 million. However after deliberating on the issue, the council decided that the project would cost to much and killed the proposal.
