Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A public forum was held this evening at O’Leary middle school to discuss a new program for students.
The 8 and 6 program allows middle school students to take high school classes, completing 8 years of school in 6.
It is designed for motivated and independent students to complete online courses and get a head start.
We spoke to the principal of Robert Stuart middle school about how it will benefit the students of Idaho.
"The biggest change I think is that it offers opportunities here at the middle school so that they can begin starting taking their high school credits, therefore advancing themselves by the time they get to high school to allow them to have room so they can take more advanced classes later on."
Another meeting will be held Thursday the 10th at six pm in the Robert Stuart middle school library.
Any parents who would like to learn more are encouraged to attend.
