Idaho state police and Cassia County Sheriff's department officials are investigating a hit-and-run accident.
The incident occurred around 10:30 last night on state highway 27 at 400 south.
A blue 1995 Chevy Tahoe with an unknown driver was traveling westbound on 400 South when they ran a stop sign and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta driven by 41-year old Gerald Lind of Oakley - who was south bound on highway 27.
Upon impact - both vehicles collided with a 2003 Buick driven by 41-year old Kathleen Hoffman of Blackfoot who was eastbound on 400 South.
The unknown driver of the Tahoe fled on foot and has not been located.
A total of 5 people in the 3 vehicles were taken to Cassia Regional Medical Center for treatment.
One passenger in the Jetta was seriously injured - 79-year old Keith Critchfield of Oakley - who was later taken by life flight to a hospital in Salt Lake City.
It’s uncertain if Critchfield was wearing a seatbelt.
Investigators say the driver of the blue SUV may have been drinking - since multiple open containers of alcohol were found on scene.
That person’s passengers - 42-year old Cesareo Villeda and a 3-year old child - both of Burley - were among those injured.
