Hansen, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) – Crews will replace an irrigation culvert near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Rock Creek Road beginning Wednesday April 23, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The work will slow traffic for as long as three days and is part of a roadway-preservation project through the town of Hansen expected to continue into May.
The pipe to be replaced is located west of Rock Creek Road (3800 East) and carries irrigation water to the north side of the roadway. Half of the roadway will be closed at a time while crews cut the road, and replace the pipe and road base.
Drivers should watch for flaggers controlling traffic through the work zone and can expect short delays. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.
The remainder of the project is expected to begin with roadway paving May 5 from near the pipe replacement west of Hansen to the intersection with 3700 North Road near the Bickel viaduct. Work is expected to be completed in mid-May and a chip-seal coat will follow in late June or early July.
