Risch, LaRocco agree to second debate

BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ Idaho's top candidates for the U.S. Senate
will meet in a second televised debate in the weeks before the
November election.

Republican Jim Risch announced Wednesday he would share the
stage with Democrat Larry LaRocco in a debate planned in Lewiston.

The debate is scheduled for Oct. 8, is sponsored by the Lewiston
Tribune and KLEW-TV and will be broadcast live.

The candidates have also agreed to square off Oct. 21 at
Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa in a debate sponsored by
other media outlets and broadcast statewide.

LaRocco is still challenging Risch to sign on to the traditional
debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Idaho Public
Television. That debate uses a format that allows the candidates to
more actively address each other.
