Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Idaho Power representatives recognized the Blaine County School District for its commitment to energy efficiency in building upgrades during a presentation to the school board on Tuesday, May 13.

The district has taken advantage of Idaho Power’s Building Efficiency Program to make significant improvements to six buildings. These upgrades are estimated to save more than 1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, compared to what they would have otherwise used, and a reduction of more than $60,000 per year on the district’s electrical bills.

Idaho Power is pleased to recognize the school district and those individuals who were instrumental in incorporating energy efficiency measures in building retrofits over the past five years. Improvements included reduced interior light load, addition of occupancy sensors, efficient exit signs, efficient HVAC units, energy management control systems, demand control ventilation and variable speed drives.
