Rain Showers/Cooler Temps Means Sawtooth National Forest Will Not Need To Implement Some Fire Restrictions

By Paul Johnson

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - With recent precipitation and cooler temperatures the Sawtooth National Forest will not implement planned Stage 1 Fire restrictions at this time.
A series of storms have come through the area and our weather stations are showing levels of precipitation that indicate it is not necessary to go into fire restrictions. We continue to ask that the public be diligent with campfires and ensure that they do not leave an unattended campfire. Make sure that it is “cool to the touch” before leaving the area.

The Sawtooth NRA will continue to have Stage 1 Fire Restrictions due to the large buildup of bug killed lodgepole.
