Fifth District Judge Barry Wood has granted the change of venue request - for 69 year old former Burley teacher James Pepcorn's trial.

Pepcorn's trial will move from Rupert to Twin Falls. Wood approved the request in light of extensive pre-trial publicity.

Pepcorn faces one charge of sexual abuse of a child under 16 - three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 16 - and one charge of rape.

Pepcorn taught at Burley High School beginning in the late 1960's and then at Burley Junior High from 1972 until his retirement in 1994.

His trial in Twin Falls will begin at 8:30 a-m Monday, September 22nd.
