Eden/Hazelton, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Students at Valley Schools have come together to give southern Idaho a taste of Broadway.

300 kindergarten through fifth grade students performed popular songs from musicals at a spring concert today. Pieces from The Wizard of Oz, The King and I, and The Sound of Music were featured.

Their teacher explains he's investing in the childrens’ musical future.

Music teacher Robbie Hanchey says, “I think it's important for every kid in elementary school at least to get that exposure. Because if you can get them exposed to it, then they'll be more familiar with it when they get older. And they'll be those people who go to the musical productions, and go and see those things.”

The concert's theme was “Magic of the Movies.” Other featured songs were from musicals including Oliver, Snow White, and The Muppet Movie.
