The Magic Valley may see a new confined feeding operation go up.

Tuesday morning The Jerome County Commissioner looked at an application for a new CAFO. This is the first CAFO application since the moratorium ended.

If built the dairy would be located east of the Traveler’s Oasis and north of the freeway.

About 5 people testified at the meeting.

The company wanting to build the CAFO is M and P Dairy LCO. The proposed dairy would hold about 7500 animals.

County Commissioner Charlie Howell says the council tabled any decision on the CAFO for later in November.
