New ordinance to keep people away from power utilities along Snake River

By Benito Baeza

11/03/08

Twin Falls County passed an ordinance to keep people away from power facilities along the river.

Idaho Power has been working with Gooding, Jerome and Twin Falls County on a trespassing ordinance.

The updated rule prohibits anyone from crossing marked buoys below and above power facilities.

Now the ordinance allows law enforcement to arrest violators and carries penalties.

The rule applies to any Idaho Power facility along the Snake River.
