The state superintendent visited a local high school to recognize them for one of their strong programs.

Tom Luna was at Burley High School Wednesday to drop in on the 'English as a Second Language classroom.

Luna says the school is doing well in closing the achievement gap and graduating students that came in with limited English proficiency but transitioned back into the traditional classroom.

Luna also says, "When you look at these standardized tests that we give to Non-English speaking students and then look at the graduation rate and the closing achievement gap then this school performs very well."
