What made headlines in southern Idaho in the months of September and October of 2008.

Back on September 6th, Cassia County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an apartment complex on 16th Street in East Burley and found a man named Alexander Rauh who was stabbed and later died from his injuries.

Christopher Foss turned himself in and he faces one count of voluntary manslaughter, plus one 'enhancement penalty' of using a deadly weapon.

In other news, the Twin Falls Canal Company said that there will be enough water to irrigate their customers into October if needed.

The town of Ketchum saw a fire burn down some historic buildings. According to Blaine County investigators - Dirty Little Roddy's and Whiskey Jacques were destroyed in the blaze while the Sawtooth Club saw damage.

Also in September, customers were infuriated after a Countrywide employee may have stolen their data.

In October, Jayco temporarily shut down one of its locations at 621 Washington Street.

In court news, a former Mini-Cassia teacher stood trial for charges of rape, sexual abuse with a minor under 16 and lewd conduct with a minor under 16. The jury found 69 year old James Pepcorn guilty of all charges. His sentencing is set for next month.

In other court news, a woman was sentenced for embezzling funds from a local health clinic. 46 year old Karie Eldredge stole more than 424-thousand dollars from Magic Valley Women's Health Clinic.

She was sentenced to 14 years, 2 fixed, 12 years indeterminate for count one grand theft and a unified sentence of 14 years none fixed, 14 indeterminate for count two grant theft. Count two will run consecutively to count one.
