Retiring After 33 Years

By Jay Michaels

12/31/08

At the end of the week, a Twin Falls County Sheriff's Deputy will hang up his badge.

Captain Ike Maxson has served almost 33 years in law enforcement in Twin Falls County, under three different sheriffs. A brief retirement party was held this morning in the basement of the courthouse.

"I got started in 1976 under Sheriff Paul Corder. Once he passed away, it was Sheriff Jim Munn. And then Sheriff Tousley started in '93," says Maxon.

Maxson has been overseeing the civil and driver's license sections of the sheriff's office - as well as concealed weapons licenses - and sex offender registration.

Maxson's last day is this Friday, January 2nd.
