Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) At this time every year, the College of Southern Idaho plays host to Agri-Action. And for some people, this little get-together is a sure sign that spring is on the way.

When it comes to Agri-Action, you can count on seeing huge tractors and the latest in farming technology. The CSI Expo Center is packed wall to wall with a wide variety of agriculture related products.

FFA State President Tanney Beymer says, "The agriculture industry is so much more diverse now. We say it's a lot more than cows, plows, and sows. I think Agri-Action really demonstrates that. You have everything from realty all the way down to different technology and irrigation."

The US Department of Agriculture says that less than one percent of the American population is directly involved in farming and ranching. But in Idaho, 25 percent of the people who live here work in some way connected to agriculture.

Event attendee Duane Pearson says, "I've been in agriculture my whole life, and mostly it's an opportunity to come see what's new. We like to come look at the tractors, it's a good chance to bring my boys here and expose them to agriculture and just a part of my life."

In addition to finding out what the latest and greatest products are, farmers, ranchers, and other producers are able to make connections with products and services that they need. Beymer says these days, agriculture is still about getting the final product to the consumer.

A farmer can grow a product, but once that product is there, there's a process to package that product, to transport it, to market that product. There's all these different entities that tie into the whole vast industry that we call agriculture.

Agri-Action continues Saturday February 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Admission is only $1.

Feb. 1, 2013.
