If the problem is the need for more renewable energy sources, then maybe the answer is 'written on the wind'.

Twin Falls County Planning and Zoning officials will hear a proposal from Hagerman area resident Christi Ritchie for creation of a wind generation park.

Tuana Springs Energy LLC wants to build the facility on around 320 acres of land on the south side of the snake river, roughly two miles southwest of bliss, and about three miles east of Idaho Power Company's Bliss hydroelectric dam.

Currently the land is zoned for agricultural range preservation and is within a short distance of a number of other functional wind turbines.

The conditional use permit would allow the company to construct up to eight wind turbines capable of generating 16.8 megawatts of electricity.

Twin Falls County Planning and Zoning Board members are also looking at conditional use permit extensions for five other proposed wind farms.
