Economy Down, Liquor Sales Up

While the economy is down - liquor sales are on the rise.
That’s according to the State Liquor Dispensary Chief Dyke Nally who says that sales were up 4-point-7 percent in January and they are expected to increase 3-percent from last year.
Dan Willie says, “In a recession or in a so-called recession people tend to drink more and that's been historically true in the great depression, we've had and I don't know if they are drinking to drawn their sorrows or just spending more time in bars and restaurants.”
Restaurant owner Dan Willie says their bar picked up sales in December and its been steadily high ever since.
