The Filer City Council will hold a public hearing a month from now, to consider requests from the Filer School District.

Superintendent John Graham says the school district has two proposed projects.

One is to build a new fourth through sixth grade intermediate school facing Sixth Street - on their property between Peace Lutheran Church and the school's baseball field.

Graham says they hope to start building the new school by the end of March, and it would open for business in fall of next year.

Another project would be to add more than a dozen new classrooms to Filer High School.

That construction would be finished by the end of this year.
