39th Annual Castleford's Men's Club Auction
CASTLEFORD, ID (KMVT-TV) - For the small town of Castleford, Idaho... one annual fundraising event has been bringing in some much needed cash to the community, going on almost 4 decades.
Saturday morning marked year number 39 for the annual Castleford's men's club auction. Since 1973, the men's club has been organizing and putting on this special event to help raise money for many different causes throughout their community. Being the only fundraising event of the year for the club... This year all of the proceeds will go to help sponsor the Castleford's quick response unit. It will also help to pay for scholarships for all Castleford graduates looking to go to college... through the dollar for school program. And also the money will go to help support the many youth sports programs in the small community. "Well last year we were just under $50,000 and were hoping to get somewhere near that again. We realize that the economy is a little bit weak in some sectors. We never know what were going to get, were thankful to get whatever we can bring in." Said, President of the Castleford’s Men’s Club – Mike Bulkley. Also in Castleford, the new community center is finally complete and up and running. The new center features a meeting room with a full kitchen, a multi–purpose room, and also houses the emergency vehicles for the Castleford QRU. As well as being the new location for city hall.
