3rd Annual "ICE BOWL" Brings In Disc Golfers From All Over

By Joey Martin

Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Disc golfers from around the area made their way to Lake Walcott Saturday morning to take part in the 3rd annual Ice Bowl.

Around 100 players showed up ready to help out the good cause.

Like most Disc Golf tournaments, is all about the prize money in the end. But not for this annual charity tournament.

A $20 entry fee plus 5 cans of food you got your name on the score card.

And in the end all of that money and food will go to help benefit the Valley House in Twin Falls.

And it wasn’t just locals getting in on the action.

“Ranging from Southern Utah, Boise, Burley – Rupert area, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Pocatello… so from all over the area they’ve traveled to come support this charity event.”
Said "Ice Bowl" Tournament Director, Mike Stradley.

In total the "frolfers" raised over $500 in cash and roughly 500 pounds of food for the Valley House.

Organizers say with the ever growing popularity of the event... you can expect to see bigger and better things in the years to come.
