Work is expected to get underway soon on construction of $13 Million in expansion and repair projects in the Filer School District.

Roughly $11 Million will be used for increasing classroom space used by fourth through sixth graders, while $1.2 Million will go toward expanding the band room at the high school.

Roughly $600,000 will be used for roof repairs at elementary schools in Filer and Hollister. $75,000 will go to resurfacing part of the middle school's parking lot; and $800,000 will go toward new lighting for the high school football field along with new restrooms - bleachers - and concession stands.

Filer School District voters approved the funding during a bond levy election last May.
