Sunday's high winds cause some damage around valley

High winds yesterday blew down trees and damaged roofs in much of Magic Valley.

In Twin Falls, winds tore loose a ten to twelve foot long section of shingles on one of the buildings at the Glen Eagles apartments at 1846 Harrison Street North near Pole Line Road.

The owners of the senior housing complex didn't comment on the damaged shingles.

Many businesses in Twin Falls had employees out rearranging the lettering on their marquees today; in some cases, the wind tore the letters and numbers right off the signs.

Meanwhile a barn north of Kimberly wasn't immune to yesterday’s winds. The owner of this shed on the Barnhill Farm was torn up by the high winds late Sunday afternoon.

The owner Fred Barnhill says the building is a considerable loss but insurance will cover it. He told us they didn't hear the building come down, but a passer by noticed the wind was starting to take the building down. A combine was stored in the shed but it wasn't damaged.
